It was the year 1984, and everyone was dancing to the soundtrack of Footloose. I recently watched the remake of the movie and thought it was one of the most horrible things ever. The funny thing is, my young boys really liked it. The scene where the young rebel was dancing in the warehouse was just to funny. My family and I watched the old version the next weekend and I guess it was just as bad but I remember it being sooo good.

If you like thrillers there's a new Canadian author you might like to try.  Owen Laukkanen's debut novel, The Professionals" is a real page turner.  He will be at the Drumheller Public Library on May 16th at 6:30.

Ridley Scott's Alien

My sons and I have just finished watching the Alien movies.It has been great sharing movie memories od my youth with them.Their favorite was Alien 3 but my favorite is Ridley Scott's Alien. The movie is 30 years old but still holds up over the ages. My boys did mock the special effects though. We are all ezcited about the new movie Prometheus, out this summer.It is very hush hush story but has something to do with Alien movie. What is wrong with Michael Scott

I just finished watching season six of The Office. it is one of my favorite comedy shows ever, i find it even more funny than Seinfeld. Watching the whole season at once i do start feeling sorry for Michael Scott and his incompetance. It comes to a point where i have to hide under the blanket when he says the most idiotic things.

Retro Stereo

I was daydreaming the other day and remembering when I was a teenager and would listen to my LP's on the home stereo. Everything was set in a wooden cabinet that had a secret opening on the underside. The top of the cabinet was solid wood and was a place for my books. I could store my records inside as well. Here is the closest picture I could find.
