How Do I Donate to the Library?

Donations of Library Materials (Books, DVDs, etc). Please Note: Library Donations of Equipment, Furnishings etc. should not be more than 5 YEARS OLD, while written materials should not published prior to 2000.

We ACCEPT:

  • Materials in Good condition
  • No more than 5 years old for furniture (Items in good condition may still be considered)
  • Published on or after 2000 for written materials (Select exceptions may be made for earllier published submissions)


We DO NOT ACCEPT:

  • Materials in Poor condition
  • Textbooks
  • Outdated Encyclopedias
  • Published materials printed prior to 2000 (See above, exceptions may be made for materials in good condition)
  • Furniture in disrepair or more than 5 years old (See above, exceptions may be made)


Donated materials may be added to our collection, given to other Libraries or sold in our Book Sales.

Donations of Money, Equipment, Furnishings, Art, Magazine Subscriptions, etc.

 Donations of Money
  Donati  

  • Income tax deductable receipts issued upon request
  • Individual and group donations are acknowledged by the Library Director and/or Library Board Chairperson
  • Next of kin to be notified of names of persons making "in memory of" donations

Donations of Equipment, Furnishings, Art, etc.

  • The Library Director, in consultation with the Board, reserves the right to reject donations that are not suitable
  • The Library Director, in consultation with the Board, reserves the right to remove and dispose of donated items when they become obsolete.


Donations of Magazine Subscriptions

  • Income tax deductable receipts issued upon request
  • Individuals make make suggestions or use an existing title that is not "Adopted" already

Food Bank Donations

  • Non-perishable food items can be donated at the Library for the Drumheller Food Bank
